I've been a no-shorts-ever guy my entire adult life and I'm honestly not sure I could articulate why, but these days the summers get hotter than they used to, sooner than they used to, and it's not practical right not to move up to the VT/CA border.

My two favorite companies for shorts in the last 5 years are http://swrve.us and http://ornotbike.com , both sewn in the US and both very durable.
