people seem really intent on insisting that there's a singular reason why any and all people who continue to wear masks are doing so, and that's weird to me.

but it's not ONLY hypervigilance-as-trauma-reaction, but it's not NOT that. and it's not ONLY that the pandemic isn't fucking over but it's sure not NOT that. and it's not ONLY about signaling that you care about fellow humans, but it's not NOT that.
