      national parks rule, it's not expensive to camp there, they're beautiful, and it's important for people to use them and thus care about preserving them

          Especially if you want to camp without roughing it hard. Most parks with campgrounds have easy access to bathrooms, sometimes even showers! It's convenient while still letting camping be... Actually camping.

          Also state parks! My favorite camping experience ever was a spot we found five feet from the shore of Lake Superior...fell asleep to the sound of the waves.
