I really, really miss the prevalent quality Italian and Greek food I came to expect, growing up in Boston But having moved to Virginia and married a man from North Carolina... I think the barbecue assessment is correct
there are a handful of places that do a decent job, but it's nothing like being in the actual south.

Yeah, every corner place in North Carolina has a decent barbecue and hush puppies of varying quality. (But god help you if you want a good chicken parm.)

If you're ever in Denver, try my brother's place! Granted he imported the good stuff FROM the south, but still, it's quality.
