She should. Not because the Dems have need or want, but because she's a warm body who'd hold no power and not extend the false claim of the GOP having room for loyal dissenters.
I've seen way more people criticizing liberals and progressives for "celebrating Liz Cheney" or "calling her a hero" than I have anyone actually doing those things. (In point of fact I've seen zero people do then.) Is it all just preemptive?

I've seen (and, full disclosure, Tweeted myself!) some very tepid "her stance on elections is good and we want more of that" takes. I understand Twitter has an obsession with burning the enemy and salting their fields, so I think that is what people mean by "celebrating"

I think it's an almost willful misreading of "I wish more Republicans acted like this." It's the same kind of folks who insisted that saying "Trump is worse than Bush" was an attempt to rehabilitate Bush. Things can (and usually do) exist on a continuum.

I searched for “Cheney hero” and it was basically SV Daté snd then a few blue wave small timers. But I think the fact that you and I don’t see it (and in fact see the opposite, “Cheney is no hero”) is mostly testament to how we’ve curated our feeds.
