      Aerosol scientists kept telling me that plexiglass barriers might be making things *worse* by blocking ventilation. Just out in Science.       plexiglass shields, in some cases, can block droplets. like from someone who sprays it instead of says it. But aerosols? A decent way to think about aerosols is cigarette smoke, OR, what you see when you exhale on a cold day. Plexiglass shields are unlikely to do SHIT there.

      BUT they WILL change how the air flows and the aerosols move, and it's not hard to imagine a stream pf smoke blown at a plexiglass shield, upon which it goes PWOOF and spreads to go up, over, and around.

      okay? if you could smell the cigarette smoke, you could get the aerosols. and, from what we have seen, a good mask is way more effective at blocking someone's droplets AND aerosols. And less expensive than a giant sheet of plexiglass.
