Even at the bakery cafe where I did not have the time to sink into fresh pita we had hummus wraps every day with my recipe & word got around the local vegetarians that they could reliably get a good lunch (I also made sure one of our 3 soups was always veggie)
honestly no wonder almost every minimally decent restaurant has a hummus platter appetizer. if you have an oven and a blender it's super easy to make extremely good fresh hummus and pita.

I saw one kitchen nightmares ep where the place was using store bought hummus and just scooping it out and gordon was like “this is literally the easiest thing on your entire menu what is wrong with you."

you take like five things directly out of their packages and put them in a blender, and then you blend them! that's all!
