I've never lived in one myself, but it seems like there's nothing about the format per se that's necessarily a problem, so that should be solvable!
Totally solvable, the problem really only arises from the fact it's the largest structure allowed to be built as if it's a single wood house. So they're super easy to skimp on... everything.
oh yeah, if it's just questions of construction quality and such! better regulations is so often the solution.
