yes but also, customizing needs to be part of the app because of people like me who need to customize milks and amount of espresso, so it was kinda inevitable.
yeah, but you could have a whole/skim/soy/almond/whatever milk drop-down, and a whole/half/decaf one, and a couple of optional checkboxes, without such an abuse-prone unlimited customization system.

As an ex-bucks-rista, people were doing this same extra extra everything nonsense before the app The difference is that now they can’t pipe up to specify “I forgot to say more x y z” after they’ve already paid for the plain drink

I guess it was naive of me to assume people would feel a little bit of shame over inconveniencing everyone behind the counter and in the line behind them if they had to list all that crap off in person.
