the Pitsavas brothers immigrated from Greece and moved to Minnesota in 1960. they started Basil's Pizza Palace together, then Basil had to go back to Greece for some family reason, I forget what, and Bill agreed to keep running it, and resume joint ownership when he returned.
then, of course, while Basil was gone Bill decided he kind of liked getting all the profits himself, so he went back on his agreement, and in retaliation Basil opened Bill's across town.

their menus were basically identical, of course. I think maybe only Basil's remains now, but when I was a student there we'd happily go to either one. I don't think there were really Bill or Basil partisans, at least not on campus.
