sometimes I think "oh, I'll see what new developments have happened in ECMAScript recently" and they've released like three major revisions of the standard since the last time.
listen, I'm _old_. I have trouble keeping up with C, and there have been only THREE standard revs of that since I learned it, and the third didn't even add any features.

programming languages shouldn't change more often than about once a decade, is what I'm saying. We had C78, C89, C99, C11, C17 is just a bugfix release. That's a fine pace.
