I feel like…the work to get to look like that was in unlocking the armor pieces in your collections in the first place, right? why require _extra_ work now, to put limits on who can apply aesthetics they've already "earned"?

I’m right with you... I guess I’m not too surprised at having to earn some materials to do it, but I really don’t get why it’s limited to 10 per season

Yeah, grinding is whatever, but I hate the item limit!

other than the "need" to narratively explain why Ada couldn't do this before now, I really don't understand why not just let people pay 500 glimmer at any time to apply any unlocked gray/green/blue/purple armor piece as an ornament to the piece they're wearing

I’m guessing part of it is the “we sell synthweave for silver” thing :/ But I think part of it also is an attempt to game-fit it? Like maybe they think we’ll enjoy it more as something earned? (Except as you point out, we already earned the original so

yeah, that's probably true, and that leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth—is their revenue really that shaky that they need to shore it up like that, or are they just being greedy?

I mean, it is also available for free—I’d only be mad if silver were the only way to access it And like, the current guardian games ornaments are available for bright dust, not just silver, so in general I see them moving more towards “things are available both ways” approach

yeah, which I think is roughly parallel with the move to quests having "you can do this via strikes, or gambit, or the crucible, depending on what you like best" options, and that's good.

I also assume that I’ll be able to earn the materials kind of incidentally, as I do my usual play through I’ll be a lot saltier if it truly is a separate grind

good point also! like the laurels are just dropping like candy right now, so if it's just "we added more numbers to go up, and also they all go up real fast!" then sure, that hits the dopamine button I guess.

Yeah—ultimately I think it’ll be fine, even though philosophically I agree with you that it should be freely available
