thanks, it turned out cutting myself off from my main way of talking to friends during a global pandemic when I can't go see people in person wasn't a great idea I think very small amounts of explosives CAN be OK at some parties, like strings of firecrackers at lunar new year

I think of firecrackers and such as separate from explosives, which, while not entirely true, is a pretty good line of demarcation, at least.

fair enough! there's a gray area when you get up to big firecrackers, model rocket engines, etc., but I was also being a nitpicky pain in the ass (aren't you glad I'm back?) and I clearly agree that _explosives_ explosives do not belong at parties
