I will never understand why this is an argument. The Founders didn't anticipate a lot of things, that's why the constitution was built to be amendable and flexible. No one alive in 2021 needs to care what Jhomas Tefferson wanted.

the one legitimate "the founders never intended" argument is that the founders never intended us to still be using so much of the Constitution, so unchanged from the original text, for so long.
