me reading this: "Our 'therapist'…" OK, first of all, _those quotes are a real bad sign "like he's not licensed or anything" ah. yes, I think we've found the root of the problem.
like even if this guy is literally saying "now, I'm not a licensed therapist, but…", if he's functionally acting in the capacity of a therapist without a license, surely that's against some law

They're much more loosey goosey about this for therapists than for, like, lawyers or medical doctors As long as you don't actually use the word "therapy" or "psychiatric treatment" or anything like that it's anything goes
