Didn’t identify himself as a police officer. Didn’t take the opportunity to determine whether it in fact was a BB gun. Didn’t assess whether just kids shooting at targets. Didn’t give child an opportunity to respond. He just snuck up, pointed his handgun through a fence, & fired.
Aftermath: Officer still on force. District Attorney determined shooting was *justified.* Family cant afford medical bills. Including a $1300 ambulance ride! Child missed 3 weeks of 8th grade. The only message sent by system: Dont be black, in a backyard, & play w/ a BB gun.

I once was ordered to shoot a full car. IN IRAQ. They were driving quickly, couldn’t see us up ahead. I didn’t shoot because I knew it wasn’t a suicide car wastefully filled with 5 would-be bombers. I could’ve killed everyone legally. Don’t carry a weapon if you can’t handle it.

This is so disgusting. He knew it was a cap gun, didn’t give the boy any time to respond and drop the toy, then shot him twice and the county says this was justified?! WTAF is this country coming to. The UN should be investigating us on so many levels for human rights abuses.
You do know the UN already said America should pay reparations for the abuses the US has afflicted on black citizens.
I haven't called a cop in 40 yrs. I was 22. I damn near got shot in my own house. Never again. I'm 62. If I have a crime problem I work it out but I aint calling no cop EVER. They're the biggest gang in town. Good ones cover for the bad ones they have to.
I’ve said similar... the only time they will get a call from me is if I’m legally required to anything else I’d rather deal with. I’d rather deal with a thug without a badge than with one at least him I can fight back
