KN95 masks - like Utah Governor has just made available to school districts that choose to use them - can provide a high quality option that can be worn more comfortably than an N95 mask while still affording more protection than many typical cloth or procedure masks

Yes, kids are at lower risk of severe illness from COVID, but “lower” does not mean “ZERO.” Mitigation measures—including masks, vaccine mandates for eligible kids and staff, frequent testing, limitation on class sizes, & ventilation—must be in place for schools to open safely.

On MTP, Fauci says data point toward declining vaccine protection over time. He signals that booster approval is a question of when. “Sooner or later you're going to see an attenuation to the point where we're going to have to give an additional boost.”

Actually I said KN95 here — like the Utah Governor has just made available to school districts that choose to use them. Quality of mask does matter and KN95s can be worn more comfortably than an N95 masks, while still affording more protection than a typical procedure mask.

There are increasing school districts across the country where you are required to notify the school (and keep your kids home) if they are suspected of having lice, but not . This virus is not just affecting our lungs- it seems to be attacking our collective brains…

  15. In areas of high prevalence we should start the school year with appropriate precautions until we understand better how to control the spread of delta in classrooms. This new variant could be much harder to control in those settings, we need prudence to maintain in class learning
