Are these people shedding defective virions that are packaging parts of the genome? Could some cells be producing lows amounts of virions that are no longer infectious? I can’t see that the RNA would still be around unless it was still being actively transcribed

Or could this be a reinfection but virus titers never get high enough because adaptive immune virus does a great job upon reinfection and never allows production of infectious particles
