Ive always heard that you know you are in a good economy because you “feel” it. I never felt it during the Obama years and missed out on investing. As a small business owner Im starting to “feel” it. #goldenage ?

That feeling, good or bad, is based on media consumption. Fox viewers think the Obama economy was poor, despite the facts, because they cherry-pick, distort and omit the good. Most Trump supporters believe the economy has greatly improved. It has not and declined in some areas.

I see about as much Fox and other conservative media as MSM. You must understand all angles and the relative degree of bias to be properly informed and find the truth. Not doing so is why nearly everyone here is indoctrinated with false beliefs. So what do you consider fake news?

Honestly, I respect MSM I just don’t think they do their job when a Democrat is in office. I don’t consider myself indoctrinated but I accept that I might be. Maybe we can agree that there is no straight down the middle news and we should try to consume each side evenly.

Refreshing honesty, I appreciate that. Agreed: there is no unbiased news, but MSM is FAR less biased and fairer to Repub Presidents than right-wing "news" is to Dems. It's not even close. Trump thinks MSM is unfair to him but should be happy he CHOSE to be a Republican...(1 of 2)

FOX News was worse when Obama was president. CNN and MSNBC are far worse now. Not even close.

Criticism of Trump by CNN/MSNBC is constant and leans left but is still more credible and fair than Fox was to Obama. This is 100% certain. Don't confuse quantity of coverage with quality. There's far more negative reporting on Trump because there's far more appalling behavior.

You reveal your confirmation bias here. I had positive feelings about both presidents during their terms, so in theory, I can see it more clearly. The side out of power has no "real" news in their favor, so they make it up. The side in power has accomplishments to discuss.

No, it's not confirmation bias and yes, your next comment is only in theory. You're correct about challenges for the side not in power but it's the same issue for both parties and so irrelevant to a debate about the relative degree of bias.

One can observe that triggers exist or do not exist for confirmation bias. But if you say you're not experiencing it, you don't know what it is. You can't tell when you're in it.
