Start listening at the time noted below and learn why I say Democrats and Republicans have such loathing for each other. It's the uncanny valley. We LOOK human to each other, but the mind of the other isn't quite right (because of cognitive dissonance). Result: Revulsion.https://twitter.com/ii1111/status/996013703978999808 …

If you scroll to one hour 32 minutes and 20 seconds of this absolutely fascinating interview. You'll hear Sam talking about the uncanny valley and narcissist and psychopaths https://goo.gl/FxFYPH  many commenters and demonstrators have this condition and they get the most press

Perhaps the uncanny valley is a result of evolved revulsion towards out-group members, not the other way around...

A tiger is easy to understand and dangerous. An animal which one cannot understand and is dangerous is that much more unnerving.

Think of it in terms of prehistoric primates competing for resources. Species that are too similar compete for the same resources, while different species find compatible niches. It makes sense for species to try to remove other species that are too similar, but not the same.

A great time for @GadSaad to weigh in, because he’s the evo-psych expert on these matters, The Gadfather.
