This conversation IS the point. You’re smart, I’m smart, and as soon as “strategy” enters the conversation we can’t agree what it even is. If I say “America first” is our strategy, did I communicate a truth or start an argument?

Correct. Strategy is great for explaining history and useless for planning the future because of human nature. Priorities, systems, A/B testing, vision, flexibility are more useful.
