It's an interesting idea which may take a lot of probing and stress-testing. I am not concerned about the cost so much as our ability as a society to create enough good boarding schools out of the same overall stock of human resources who do the parenting. 1/

Student-teacher ratio in a boarding school being much higher than parent-children ratio at home would indicate a far fewer number of "good teachers" are required from among the number of "good parents" available, and may be some bad parents would make good teachers. 2/
