Yes maybe, the problem is that very few teachers are ex-marines. If your argument is that if that rare armed marine schoolteacher could someday make a difference, then I agree. Addressing symptoms is not a long-term solution.

There were two Marines on my campus - head of security and a math teacher. Army, Navy and Air Force on staff as teachers and maintenance.
