I agree very little with Trump on most things. Independent of that, he was the single-least qualified candidate in history and beat a very qualified candidate and a dozen-plus ppl in primaries. He did something right.

Definitely agree there. But wouldn't Occam's Razor say that it was: playing a successful businessman on tv + the alpha ape performance at debates + ability to attack the establishment (since he had no political record)?

Political tribal loyalty is immensely strong. Once you're the GOP nominee, getting approval from Republicans does not require special powers. It only requires a pulse... maybe.
