You may be right. I'd think one could be effective and tough, while not being wildly dislikable. I'm a fan of the corporate tax cuts, I wish they weren't debt financed though. Are you sure those who change are always hated? I'd think the content of that change plays into it.

I don’t doubt he has persuasive techniques. My model would claim he does it organically and doesn’t understand it technically as you do. He won the election, what is the “luck” after that? 1) The tax bill with a majority house and senate 2) ? (redo reply, subway ride)

You would claim he does it organically at the same time he wrote a best selling book about persuasion technique (for negotiating) and has often explained his persuasion techniques in public?

My model would also give far less credit to the wisdom of the populace. Instead of winning because his arguments are brilliant, he may have won because people have bad judgement. Why does Islam "keep getting lucky?" Brilliant policy or because people have bad judgement?
