@ScottAdamsSays reason that nobody wants to invade Switzerland is because of the terrain. Even if you had a reason to invade, the high altitude mountainous terrain, and a population required to bear arms would turn a invasion into a European Afghanistan.

Depends on the strategy. If the US decided to carpet bomb the nation with MOABs, then no, it would be over quick. But short of that, it would be drawn out and cost the US too much. It would be a financially devastating war, as Switzerland itself isnt really "valuable".

The way one define victory, may not persuade the public at all. This is why the Afghan war goes on. At the moment, the "cost" of declearing victory is a resounding net loss. There is no persuasive positives. Switzerland would be the same. Nothing tangible to win there.

Yeah well... I K it's hard to picture for the "I am sure we're great" US citizans but there's a reason neither Napoleon nor Hitler tried. US isn't only great at winning vs very weak country. One of this days US citizens will realize they're paying silly price for security&intel.
-
isnt' => is. (aka if you lost vs Vietnam, NK or Syria + 30 russian planes, you're far, far away from and opening on any "actually powerful" country. You're paying 30 times what we pay for no extra power. You should worry about that. It's how empires fall.
