Why can't he be both? Steve Jobs pulled it off.

lucky bumbling fool and genius are mutually exclusive. Scott, your whole defense of Trump is that he's a great manipulator. That's not saying much in the way of being able to lead a government. I think
@conor64 nailed your rationale for Trump support. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/08/a-cartoonists-nihilistic-defense-of-donald-trump/537297/ …3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

Manipulator implies bad intent. My rationale is "leadership." Try to criticize my actual opinion. It works better.

I believe you said something to the effect of master persuader. What he does I'd describe more as manipulation. His intent is entirely self-centered and that is clear from his actions - forget his words. And I appreciate the engagement.

Your view assumes you can read minds. My view assumes presidents go to work and do the job of the people, which we observer happening.

Nope, my view is based on observing his actions, during and prior to his presidency. I'm not going to go into specifics as
@SamHarrisOrg did plenty of that.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

No sir. You stated "His intent is blah blah blah." Attempted mindreading is how you arrived at your view. What if you are wrong about his "intent?"

What if you're wrong about his intent? What about his criticism of Obamas golf habit, yet he golf's much more? What about holding holiday events at his own properties? And you're okay with this? https://www.axios.com/scoop-trumps-secret-shrinking-schedule-1515364904-ab76374a-6252-4570-a804-942b3f851840.html …

We've evolved from "He's Hitler" to "He golfs more than he said he would."

That's an example of persuasion and leadership.

I find it incredibly unpersuasive and I'm not the only one.

Half the country is impervious to persuasion from the other half. But you only need half to run things.
