The media most certainly can ignore “nonsense”, they do it all the time. The media isn’t just covering his tweets, they’re obsessing over them because they foolishly think that they are negating him in the process. If Trump is an idiot, he’s an idiot savant. #potusvsg

His tweets are only part of the clear picture of his pathology. They're not trying to negate them. Reporting his words and rightfully concluding the insanity of those words still makes him insane, err, I mean

They’re trying to destroy him, embarrass him, make fun of him, etc. Trump knows this. That’s why he intentionally includes such words as “like, really smart” and “top T.V. star” and “Obama tapped Trump tower”.

You're confusing cause and effect. His ridiculous statements are why they're concerned. Those are the causes of the ambivalence towards him.

He has been playing the media like a fiddle for a yr and half and you still cant figure it out despite all of us reiterating it. Your religous devotion has blinded you to whats right in front of your face.

lol religious devotion. Try again. What's right in front of everyone's face is his disregard for norms, telling obvious lies, and barely being able to form coherent sentences. It's going to get ugly for Trump this year. Good luck, true believer.

If you’re still subscribing to the “Trump is a lucky bumbling buffoon” theory, and can’t see that Trump has been wildly successful in his 1st yr & that he won the R primary & then the presidency through strategic genius, then you are indeed blinded by a religious-type devotion.

If you believe your Trump is a genius theory, then you have no problem with someone whose philosophy is to purposely act like an asshole then express condemnation when people call him an asshole. That's not genius, that's just being an asshole.

Why can't he be both? Steve Jobs pulled it off.

lucky bumbling fool and genius are mutually exclusive. Scott, your whole defense of Trump is that he's a great manipulator. That's not saying much in the way of being able to lead a government. I think
@conor64 nailed your rationale for Trump support. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/08/a-cartoonists-nihilistic-defense-of-donald-trump/537297/ …3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
Manipulator implies bad intent. My rationale is "leadership." Try to criticize my actual opinion. It works better.

I believe you said something to the effect of master persuader. What he does I'd describe more as manipulation. His intent is entirely self-centered and that is clear from his actions - forget his words. And I appreciate the engagement.

Your view assumes you can read minds. My view assumes presidents go to work and do the job of the people, which we observer happening.
