Young genius @erikfinman bought some BTC for $1000, then did nothing while a bunch of other geniuses bid up its price, netting him $5M. Universities have much to learn from him. In case the story weren't wacky enough, the Trump-speak is even richer: ***“I want to start the school of all schools in Dubai,” he told The National. “It will be the best on the planet, world-renowned – because I know Dubai likes the best.”***

Well, he is literally a genius. I see no reason he would avoid talking like one. He's also a friend. I wouldn't bet against him . . . on anything.

It's hard to reply seriously to a claim like "literally a genius". While I am sure he's a very bright kid, that term seems both unwarranted and unproductive. In my field (AI/Machine Learning) now many of us who can code up a neural network are called geniuses.

This is a bit of fiction that is not good, either for the development of those upon whom such unearned praise is lavished, or on the public audience who is misled.

I haven’t seen much utility in promoting low self-esteem to the gifted.

Are you suggesting that anything short of proclamations of genius promotes low self-esteem? I think it's possible to be simultaneously confident and sober.
