In fairness the book may be different, but i think here he quite substantively misrepresents the reality of climate science http://blog.dilbert.com/2017/09/11/when-to-trust-the-experts-climate-and-otherwise/ …

For example asking if temps are peer reviewed (he says not). In fact many datasets peer reviewed and publicly available

I broadly agree with you, but counter productive to editorialise on this after stating youre not qualified to do so?

I thought Adams said that *some* well-known data sets were shut off from peer review. Was unsure about others.

I think Adams’s general argument about politics-money-science mix risking distortion of science is 100% correct.

Yes, i agree entirely with the broad argument. Science is regularly misrepresented by both sides with political and economic agendas.

Nit picking because almost all data these days are available for download and peer reviewed. To single out Mann and not mention this is also being selective?

Is reading the temperature data the same as peer reviewing it?

The methods describing how to get from the raw data to the plots are peer reviewed in the journals.

Anyone with basic capability in (normally python) programming can download and review it themselves. Increasingly the codes are supplied too (many journals now require this)
