Analogies are only when you don't have any more points.... It's like the two sides are watching two different movies.
He actually said analogies are bad for persuasion, good for explaining new situations/things. The 'two movies' is a new idea.
Maybe where you stop Sam short of using analogies to prove a point, yet most of the podcast is you presenting analogies....
And besides, your response is a great example.
You criticize for trying to get in people's head while riding your wave of Trump apologetics by doing just that. No?
I don't think there was a single time you tried to defend trump without an analogy, or detracting with a CB/CD argument.
Cialdini (author of influence) said that analogies is the most effective and quickest way to persuade. @ScottAdamsSays
Which is probably why Scott uses them the entire podcast, then stops Sam when he tries, play straight out of the book of trump. "Fake news!"
I will say, I've nvr heard Sam so rattled in a discussion, Scott stayed cool. Shame his supporters think it means he made a strong argument
If I was ever recorded in a 2 hr discussion, I would expect myself to come off as hypocritical, more than once.
