Analogies are useful if they help explain a concept accurately (whether or not the first time).
The first analogy is often the best...kind of like the first bite of something to a hungry person. After the second bite, the taste dilutes.

Upon sober reflection, I would forward the notion that language itself is riddled with analogies, metaphors & images.
Yet you use analogies again and again and again for making points rather than introducing topics. You are so pathetically transparent
but isn't a zebra a *type* of horse?
They are powerful/versatile communication tools, as Mr. Harris mentioned. (And as your movie theater example illustrates.) As are metaphors.
Analogies are the basis for reality itself. Without analogy words lose all their meaning. Without other numbers, the # 4 loses any meaning.
