Consistency principle ~ once someone says/does something, esp publicly, they REALLY don't want to say/do anything that contradicts it later.

Pacing / leading ~ acknowledging someone's experience a few times (pace) and then when you do something new (lead), they tend to do it too.

I feel like they relate on an internal level. In both cases, your body physiologically resists you resisting the persuasion.
