A vaccine passport allows us to reopen the economy faster and at lower risk. I don't trust anyone, much less a government, and even I see no evidence to suspect nefarious reasons in this case.https://twitter.com/kylenabecker/status/1376385553923473411 …

I was thinking about getting the vaccine until the government came up with this "vaccine passport" shit and convince me there's some nefarious business going on with it. Count me out, comrades. Stick your internal passport up your asses.

Scott, I rarely disagree with you, but in this instance I completely disagree. This is too much Gov’t control. Florida managed to keep their economy open without a vaccine passport. NO WAY.

You didn't offer a reason. Watch how none of my critics on this point do. It's all "too much" this, and "someone else did something else in a different situation." Literally no argument.

As a healthy individual in my 30s, I should be allowed to make the choice if the risk of a taking a quickly developed vaccine (low risk) is a better choice for me than the potential impacts of getting COVID (also low, probably lower). (1/x)

One reason i worry about is a vaccine passport essentially “forces” people to take the vaccine. Non vaccinated will not be able to participate in society at the same level as vaccinated. How long until kids must be vaccinated to go to school? Just thoughts.

The response above contains the reason, but I will be explicit: the “vaccine passport” concept would have to administered by government officials, who literally has no right to know who was vaccinated for what and when.

Your response glosses over the fact that government officials have had vaccination records of most Americans for the purposes of schooling and employment for years upon years. Your argument is moot.

How about it’s against the Geneva convention for human rights as well as the UNESCO Bioethics declaration. So yes it is “too much” and if you can’t see how this can be used in a corrupt way by already corrupt institutions Nd governments then idk what to tell ya.

Scott. It is simple. It COULD be used for nefarious purposes. That is why you keep such things out of the control of governemnt.

And there really isn't any clear benefit to a vaccine passport. Test/trace was an enormous failure, reopening phases were arbitrary (playgrounds taped off lol)... govt needs to gain back trust before I would ever consider supporting vax passports.

So healthy people who choose not to have the vaccine are locked away, unable to work or travel? Where does it stop Scott?

Do you disavow all slippery slope arguments or just the ones you happen to dislike? The argument is that it gives the government too much power to decide who can completely participate in society. It immediately creates 2 classes: the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.
