Many doctors are now recommending it. Took so long because pharma can’t make money off of it except for the IV stuff. I got my D levels tested and supplementing has helped keep me at optimal levels and what a coincidence I never get sick.

OTC D3 as recommended by my PCP has helped with my blood work and seems to have improved my propensity for yearly sinus infections.. This is obviously anecdotal, not a scientific trial! Your mileage may vary.

I work w dieticians, they both say take a good quality supplement of d vitamin - 4k a day. Almost everyone has a d deficiency.

How do we know if what we are buying is "good quality"? There are so many brands of vitamins!

Whether the same or different, D3 is not absorbed efficiently through the gut (OTC or Prescribed). Hence...therapy light boxes

My understanding is that your body converts the D3 to the “better” version they give in the hospital all the time, so taking D3 gets you the good stuff naturally. Hospitals speed up the process and give it to you straight.

I wouldn't. Doesn't cost much and isn't hard to take a few vitamins. It's a no lose scenario. While you are being cautious others are ingesting vitamins that have several benefits regardless.
