Mass shootings are a predictable outcome of gun ownership. Those tragedies are the price of protecting the public from its own government. Is that price worth the benefit?

I don’t believe your premise is correct. Or perhaps I’m interpreting it incorrectly. Swirzerland has relatively high percentage of ownership but virtually zero gun crime. Of course they don’t have a press trying to divide and pit every segment against each other.

The Swiss are very affluent. Mostly financially struggling people engage in mass shootings. They don’t see a future for themselves and begrudge others for being satisfied with their lives. Also, without mental illness, this would not happen.

Its a privilege to own a weapon in Switzerland, get a speeding ticket, you can lose that privilege.
