He went into Venice hospital with a blood oxygen level of 88 after trying to ride it out at home for two weeks. Was admitted and they started a 5 day regimen of remdesivir... was able to go home after one week. Still on O2... I’ll ask what else.
-
There’s always the chance it was a placebo effect, or that remdesivir didn’t truly play a role in him surviving... but I’m glad he pulled through, and he was on it.

Initially promising, but I do believe the shine had worn off.

Remdesivir is standard of care all over the world. It would not be that if it didnt help.

I just spent two weeks in covid hospital with organs inflamed. Remdesivir, antibiotics, steroids and blood thinner. Also a transfusion of plasma. Scary as I am a very health freak 50 year old

Pretty much the same meds my dad was on. Glad you made it as well.

What does it matter, really? I can go to the tennis club and find a dozen reasonably Intelligent people who will swear CBD oil or copper compression fixed a bad joint.

Remdesivir is most effective if administered early. So, within a couple of days of being symptomatic. They'll do a 5 day or 10 day course of it. Another effective treatment is the convalescent plasma. But again, you gotta administer it early on to be effective.

My understanding... No statistical mortality benefit But does on average shorten hospital stay for those who recover (Which does lead to mortality benefit of hospitals are overloading)https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/final-report-confirms-remdesivir-benefits-covid-19 …

*Which leads to mortality benefit IF hospitals are overloading (That one letter makes a big difference)
