How old are those states in comparison to Ny, California? Could it be that younger states are less vulnerable, but they choose poorer leaders due to less experience in the real world?

I think we saw over last summer that the warm weather (which Florida has year round) tends to depress the numbers. That said, SoCal is also warm, so there's clearly more to it than that. Like you said, Scott, there's a lot we don't understand (and will learn in the coming year).
