Fortunately we have the "Enunciation Clause".Since empirical evidence says opening up presents no higher risk(& indicates a lower risk) & TX & MS are merely giving decisions back to citizens, the downside appears minimal. At some point individuals can mitigate their own risks. https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1367113572937998336 …pic.twitter.com/3j9kaTbUci

The Sweden model has been thoroughly debunked. I wouldn't use that to make any arguments.

Here's a good thread to walk you though the comparisons...https://twitter.com/ConceptualJames/status/1366943242785337346?s=20 …

People are calling these "two test cases," and I rather agree. Seems like a good time for a story about how I became a lot more skeptical of Covid policy than most by last summer. https://twitter.com/USATODAY/status/1366869525971562498 …

States are not comparable. We end up confusing ourselves.

Not true. S. Dakota and N. Dakota are nearly identical. S. Dakota never locked down, never mandated masks. Their covid curves were the same. Difference is that S. Dakota with no collateral damage from lockdowns has the lowest unemployment in the nation while N. Dakota struggles.

That only indicates lockdowns are not a good idea when the population is low and spread out. No one debates that.

So nothing is comparable? If there are so many variables what’s the rationale behind masks in grocery, social distancing outside, etc etc etc. Is it impossible to conclude that “open” was the only real solution?

To reframe you question "Mandates do not appear to achieve the desired objective. Why?" (One could argue our health care system was not put at risk which was the original objective. One could also argue 2nd & 3rd order effects killed far more than not locking down)
