Seems a bit of a mystery to me that masks and social distancing completely eliminated normal seasonal flu deaths but not COVID-19. I see a few possible explanations.

Possibly. Positive flu tests in the lab are ridiculously low this season though. Possibly some dupes across sets, but so far this season, clinical labs have reported 1387 positive tests out of 632k samples, public health labs 198 positive out of 309K tests. ~1600 cases out of just under a million tested. Hardly anyone even has the flu. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm …
