Right. If the bulk of your population is in an age range unlikely to die from Covid than high infection and low deaths seems like a probable outcome. That said, I am still interested in the excess death stats.

They're undercounting. Russia's excess deaths were 3 times their official covid deaths. If India's excess deaths are 5 times their official deaths, there's no discrepancy.
