@ScottAdamsSays I want to help you bring the Right to the same page with masks. I'm a "compliant skeptic" - which is to say, I know I have no idea, and am willing to comply to a great extent, but I also need to know there's a clear plan/endpoint/goal, otherwise I'll push back

I'm not OK with, "We're going to do masks / shutdowns (maybe) forever because COVID is (maybe) never going away" Is anybody suggesting that? Lack of end-date makes it feel like they are Can we get at least get a hard cut-off? A real plan? There'd be much more compliance

I don't understand why we need an end date. We're done when we are out of danger.

      1) because I see the mental side effects this past year has had on my 11 year old and 4 year old 2) because we can't show with certainty masked/shutdown areas are doing better or worse than otherwise - if we could it would be different

That doesn't answer the question of why we need an end date.

That's how you increase compliance. Compliance will only decrease from here on out unless govt. Gets tough (bad) or a solid end date is provided

We couldn't keep a date like that. Two weeks to flatten the curve didn't work out either.

We don't really know that "Two weeks to flatten the curve didn't work out either." because we didn't adhere to it.

Even if, It was to flatten the curve and not to end the pandemic. This whole shit started with one person infected!

End dates give a psychological target and people can tell themselves it's only bad until then. Without a stated end, people imagine the authoritarian weight will never end and it will only grow heavier.

But it worsens things when the powers that be inevitably extend the time frame !!!

Interesting discussion. There will never be a metric we can reach because we won’t trust the data.

We don't even need a solid end date. What we need is a real science based goal. Something more than "trust us--we wear white coats".

Instead of an end date, how about an "it ends when" metric that's established in advance?
