@ScottAdamsSays I want to help you bring the Right to the same page with masks. I'm a "compliant skeptic" - which is to say, I know I have no idea, and am willing to comply to a great extent, but I also need to know there's a clear plan/endpoint/goal, otherwise I'll push back

Exit strategy, not a date. Goalposts keep moving.

Is "I'll follow your directions when I can trust you" not a reason? Plus, I'm not (legally) responsible for anyone's health except my own.

Who defines “when we are out of danger”? Is there an exact number on covid hospitalizations and deaths that we need to reach in order to be defined as “out of danger”? That would be helpful. And it can’t be zero...

This must be a regional thing with conservatives. I live in a very conservative community in N.C. People generally seem pretty compliant and good-natured about masks. I'll hear one or two people grouse about gov control occasionally, but they're the exception.

The way governors are handling is very different, too. Not a fan of mine by any means.

People trust a politician that says “Trust me to do it by this date” more than a politician that just says “Trust me”. You’re still getting screwed, but with the first one you’re going to know exactly when you got screwed. People hate ambiguity.

Because people on the Right are concerned about (link) A date is an assurance officials aren't using this response to "accomplish policies that would otherwise be impossible" If the science were more clear (like seatbelts) it would be differenthttps://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/03/25/lets-make-sure-this-crisis-doesnt-go-waste/ …

If you're looking for a scientific reason, there isn't one. Science hasnt been able to be convincing enough on this one, so now we are in the position of negotiating social contracts w one another based on perceived risk / benefit of unknown science and unknown other variables
