I'd like to see a study showing coronavirus outcomes ranked by each country's average level of respect for the elderly. Asian countries are doing well. In the USA, where the elderly are treated as disposable, I observe that young people make no effort stop the spread.

Keep in mind teens also see that they are at no risk, that the old people dying are already really in bad shape. I teach HS, and do not diminish the effect on teens when they see their peers and themselves test positive with no symptoms. Never trust anyone over 30, remember?

It’s hard for teens to care when people don’t believe they are capable of it.

I think it may be a cultural thing. Here in Miami, the Cuban community is very family oriented and in find all the teens and young adults are very concerned about exposing their grandparents

A few questions come to mind: 1) What's the rate of elderly deaths in nursing homes vs. outside? 2) How many teens put grandma there? 3) How many teens work in nursing homes? 4) How many teens run nursing homes? 5) How many teens run a state w/20M people?https://nypost.com/2021/02/03/cuomos-doh-illegally-withheld-covid-nursing-home-death-toll-judge/ …
