As I often say, I'm 100% in favor of referring to people by their preferred pronouns and labels. That's just good manners. And it's why calling someone a "white supremacist" should be a firing offense when referring to white people who do not hold those views.

there's a much higher rates of suicide and coexisting mental illnesses with gender dysphoria...that doesn't get put into the narrative.

It gets put into the narrative at every opportunity: this was also true before gender reassignment became possible. As it is, mental health issues for trans people should be a reason to give them support and compassion rather than dismissal, wouldn’t you think?
