It would be good if at least some of the people who make this fallacious argument admit that owning another human being is barbaric.https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1353891692810620929 …

This is such a bad faith argument that it makes me sick.
@ScottAdamsSays is trying a "gotcha" so that he doesn't have to admit he was wrong, and his critics were right, about Trump posing a literal threat to democracy. Also, fwiw, Washington warned against demagogues like Trump.56 replies 0 retweets 10 likes -

You'd have to super gullible to believe the narrative that taking control of some empty rooms in the Capitol, or even taking Pence hostage (worst case) would somehow overthrow our government. Literally nothing works that way. The Capitol assault was VERY BAD, but not a coup.

Trump conditioned his supporters to believe that, unless he wins an election, it is illegitimate. (See
@Salon below.) He lost. He told his supporters to go to the Capitol "to take back our country." That, plus everything you described, is a coup attempt.https://www.salon.com/2021/01/03/dont-act-surprised-donald-trump-was-never-going-to-accept-the-election-results-if-he-lost/ …15 replies 0 retweets 4 likes -

You also left out many details: The threats to many lawmakers' lives. The fact that some people were actually injured or killed. The fact that the rioters' claims had been unanimously debunked by our courts, yet they felt they had a right to impose their will on the country.

Also, "debunked by courts" is fake news and narrative. I think you are smart enough to know the courts mostly ruled on whether they were the right instrument for the challenges and said no.
