How can you know that. Why can't it be many individuals independently convinced by the algorithms and media that Trump needed to be removed by force. Why do they all have to be in on it

I had similar thoughts for Scott. My wife (PhD psych) says the same about me(EE) & she's a pro listener. It took the longest time for me to convince her that calling her profession pseudo science wasn't meant as an insult - just too many variables for repeat beyond narrow range.

I think it's plausible they thought they looked but lack the expertise to understand how to look fully. Much like Twitter the best arguments can get hijacked by the noise of each side's trolls. Sadly both sides lock-in believing they are right and blind to the good counterpoints.

Transparency is the only way to give more confidence in the system. January 6th was a terrible day and a terrible image for our country, but I fear the worst result from it was a lack of honest debate that would move us towards a more transparent system in the future.
