After I watched the video of the beating death of the police officer at the hands of the Capitol protesters, the later shooting of the first protester through the window looks justified to me. Or at least that should be our default assumption.

There were Capitol police in riot gear right behind her

Right decisions are not made by happenstance. If a serial killer takes out a guy who happens to beat his wife and kids, that doesn’t mean the serial killer is making good decisions.

Good to know laws aren't based on intent anymore. Why did he think he was in enough danger to use deadly force when they peacefully let the four police in front of the door go? He watched that happen.

Officers that, by the way, were still on the other side of the door when he opened fire.

Sounds like the girl trying to take the boy's phone thing. If it turned out he had her phone, she'd be right in retrospect. But he didn't. So she's wrong. Only in hindsight can we establish guilt. That feels wrong. Guilt should be obvious (to the omniscient) in the moment.

Well, it looks like he may have killed himself over that “right” decision of his.
