Remind me how you distinguish Dunning-Kruger from you being wrong and me being right. It looks the same to you, doesn't it?https://twitter.com/stevemagness/status/1342869458692567041 …

We've replaced rigor and expertise with how loud your voice is in social media as a pseudo marker for legitimacy... The internet is a bastion for Dunning-Kruger, high confidence for those who know little about a subject. The expert of everything is a real problem we face. https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1342532193239756802 …

Scott, thanks for engaging. If you've got a theory or data to validate your beliefs and overturn decades of scientific research on narcissism, I'd suggest you publish it. It'd alter the course of an entire field of study.

That's how science works. I'm not claiming to be right based on my opinion, I'm stating that the vast majority of evidence across fields of scientific discipline point in the opposite direction of your claims If you feel they are wrong, write up a counter-theory with evidence

Science doesn't know the cause, doesn't have one definition, includes obvious untruths (such as people thinking they are better than other people) and can't distinguish when those characteristics are real or imagined by the observer. It's pure subjectivity.

Alternate tweet Scott: "Tweets are too short to convey my issue with narcissism as a psy concept". Maybe I'd buy that one. Just declaring by fiat that narcissism is bs won't convince real scientists Scott.

To the untrained eye a blowhard pretending to be confident looks the same as genuine confidence The vast majority of the public can’t tell the difference therefore even acting it will be effective

As someone who has gotten national science foundation grants b4, albeit in electrical engineering, I swear that all the NPD claims are either accurate or Karl Popper falsifiable. The reality of NPD is Kuhn paradigm shift to common sense, but still true nonetheless.

The purpose for the very existence of this "disorder" is not to diagnose and help a mentally ill person who could benefit from help/treatment; it is to attack, coerce and/or minimize the power and agency of that person. It fits perfectly into the "cancel culture" phenomenon.

The main purpose for diagnosis is so that insurance and Medicare/aid pay out. But claiming that it doesn’t help is absolute bullshit. It’s like saying identifying cancer doesn’t help, “insert BS rambling”, identifying disorder is the first step to understanding and getting better

I don’t think you understand what science is at all. The hallmark of Dunning-Kruger is not even being aware that you don’t know what you don’t know and denying it while preaching lots of opinions. I’ve yet to see you post any evidence.
