There’s a difference between popular conception (“he’s a narcissist bc he’s a big ego asshole” etc) and real NPD, which can damage a lot of people, especially parents to kids.

Ok sure; it’s a way to describe common behaviors/patterns/ways of relating to others so they can be discussed and/or treated, like any categories in psychology or behavioral health, etc.
